Female empowerment

Is your business overlooking women? If yes, here are 3 ways to change that.

3 WAYS YOUR COMPANY CAN EMPOWER WOMEN

1️⃣ Include women in your marketing insights, strategies, & measurement

Sounds basic, right? However, a 2023 study from Mediacom shows 79% of women say they do not feel represented in the ads they see.

💡 What your company can do: Feature female figures when crafting your advertising and marketing strategies. For example, economic developers can highlight successful women in their respective regions, universities could invest in thought-leadership pieces featuring female leaders, etc...

2️⃣ Connect women with female mentors

In Singapore, 9 in 10 women said they’d like to connect with a female mentor. However, despite the strong demand, only 25% of women said they actually had a female mentor (She Loves Data/Milieu Insight, 2022). The same report shows other countries across APAC and Europe having similar survey results.

💡 What your company can do: Pair up female employees with strong female role models to empower them to succeed both within and outside your company.

3️⃣ Support women-related causes

Get involved with events and non-profit organizations that focus on women-related causes. Ask around your local network to figure out the most valuable places where you can invest your time, i.e., Hackathons aimed at women, meetups, speaker events, etc. In the U.S. alone, there are over 82,000 non-profit organizations that focus on women's and girls' causes.

💡 What your company can do: Ask your female employees which organizations they’d like to support and commit to volunteering for their projects or collaborate with them in creating events that are relevant to your organization’s market.
